What is the best video making software on PC?

Question by Mike F: What is the best video making software on PC?
Cheaper the better. I have Sony Vega but I have a hard time with it. I can’t get my burning program to pick up the files. It converts them into weird files that no programs can pick up. I want a program that’s easy to use like Vega, but will turn films into something that can be picked up (simple like Windows Movie Maker. But I can’t use that one. No wide screen or big enough credit space.) and have effects like Vega. Like able about to fix the sharpness, mirror objects and so on.

Adobe Premiere is good software, but complex and very expensive. I’ve always used Ulead/Corel Video Studio, it is simple to use, will export to several different formats or burn directly to disc and has widescreen, many usable effects and and built in titles. The newest version retails for around $ 79 I think but here in the UK older versions are available in the shops for around £20-30. It’s well worth the price and is an excellent program.
