Windows movie maker came with my computer but it’s a pretty awful program and freezes up whenever I try to publish a video. I tried messing with the codecs but nothing seems to fix the problem. So, I was thinking about getting my hands on a new program (either free or pretty cheap) that can be used for the same purpose. Is sony vegas any good, and will the problem go away if i purchase that?

Sony vegas is a very good alternative. You can also try Adobe premier pro…or adobe after effects…
