What is a free program for PC &/or MAC that can edit quicktime movies?

Question by Broken bones stink:): What is a free program for PC &/or MAC that can edit quicktime movies?
My camera makes movies in quicktime but windows movie maker does not edit quickime movies so i need a program i can edit my movies from my camera with. Anyideas…possibly free and downloadable…

Well on the Mac it’s easy. With every Mac you get the iLife suite and in that is iMovie, which is a basic video editor that’s quite powerful and easy to use. On PC it’s Windows Movie Maker (also free and comes with Windows) but not nearly as easy to use or powerful as iMovie.

The only other free editor I’ve seen is LiVES, but I’m not sure how good it is. Typically video editing has only been done well by companies who have the resources to get it done right.
