what are some pros and cons of an iMac?

Question by Amy T: what are some pros and cons of an iMac?
^^please don’t insult the iMac ESPECIALLY if you have never touched one in your life.
I am considering in getting one because of the software: Snow Leopard Mac OS X and iLife ’09. i also like the all-in-one sleek appeal and the built-in iSight. and the fact that there are fewer viruses than a Windows PC, its just like icing to the cake to me and the other fact that there’s less computer crashing. i’ve also heard that the Macs are, yes, compatible with Windows software because of bootcamp..i believe? correct if i am wrong, i am still doing my research. i’ve had a windows all my life and i’d have to say that the one i own is very LOUD while i’m not doing any multimedia or just anything and I do not like Windows Movie Maker. With buying an iMac, iMovie comes along with iLife, so that is a MAJOR plus to me. i HATE WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. i also don’t like any of the windows photo editings that are not expensive.

a con for me is tht the iMac is generally expensive but you know what they say, “what you pay for is what you get.” also, i heard that computer games are not the best to use with an iMac. i don’t play much, -but i occasionally like to play Sims 3. i’ve heard good and bad things about it.

also how fast is 2.66GHz and how much faster is 2.93GHz

i’m not complete sold onto the whole iMac but i’m pretty much bought. i’d like to here more things from personal experiences because i am not fully, and probably will never be done with my research. so thanks!:) pros and cons of an iMac.
i’m thinking of buying either the:
20inch display, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB of memory, 320GB Hard Drive for $ 1,199.00.

20inch display, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of memory, 1TB Hard Drive for $ 1,474.00
-or-
24inch Display, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4GB of memory, 640GB Hard Drive for $ 1,799.00 (or making it a 1TB Hard Drive for an extra $ 100)

which would be best to buy if i am just going to have alot of pictures/videos, and like 1000 songs? and sims 3.
also, i am thinking of using this computer for about 5 years/until i am in college. my main uses for a computer is the iSight photoboth camera, editing videos and pictures, and just surfing the web. and possibly Sims 3 -although i might not have too so i can just play sims 3 on my brothers windows cp once it gets fixed for THE FIFTIETH TIME THIS MONTH. (we payed about a thousand just for the cp and we’ve had to get it fixed very often)

Over 3 years my two Macs saved us $ 6,000! Nothing to fix, tweak, upgrade, repair or replace!

There are over 700 games for Macs!

Our two XPs FRIED both of our motherboards!!!! OUC ouch ouch! $ $ $ $ $ $ $ 40 hours to convince Microsoft that it was NOT boot leg.

I used Eddie’s Multi-task to clean up the registry. The I re-installed Windows XP.NOT any fun. But i have always been a “geek-grrl” and was able to fix it.

My darling husband curses windows ALL day long, everyday.
It disconnects him a couple of times a day. He asks me about the network. The network is always fine. It is always the two XPs.

I compute CARE-FREE ALL day every day. After 6 hours, the XPs are sluggish and crazy!

I look 20 years younger than I am! I think it is the pleasant computing experience.

P.S. A local rich guy. Gary Koh** saved $ 150,000 by laying off his microsoft IT guys! 6 guys mumbling ” but…but…but” He shushed them and waved his hand. “Mac” does everything that I need it to do!

He has a miniature “Titanic” in a hangar at the airport by our house.

He could afford Cray Supercomputers (like in Jurassic Park)”
