Voice Recording on Computer?

Question by DOHEE: Voice Recording on Computer?
I am making a documentary film for a school project and I need to record the script I made that goes with the movie. However, my voice doesn’t sound professional or anywhere near a documentary suitable one so, I want to know if there’s any software I can use where I can just input the words and have the computer do the speaking. I have a macbook btw. Thanks.

Alright the “Documentary Voice 101” first of all depending how old you are that would make a problem yet I learned a few years ago from another cinemaphotographer as to how they did ‘The Doc Voice’.

Expensive way is to crate a sound-booth they used acoustical tile and covered a little small box that you would make. The other far cheaper and even better was to get a moving blanket cover a 3 foot by 3 foot corner of a wall and the while talking on the Mic you then get another moving blanket to go around the person that being you. The voice will sound dead pan, no echo, not even distant.

Afterwards we use Audacity which is a great audio tool and there are a lot of free Plugins to add to the audio track and your able to tweak the audio and other odds and ends. So here is the software and you need to find some blankets (Really it does work we did a voice overlay on a movie once just covering the actor with a blanket while he was under it so it sounded like that voice when your talking to yourself)

Audacity:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
LAME (Yeah thats the title you download it to use for your MP3 export)
http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.dmg
Da Plugins now all this FREE and here are some great Plugs……
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/plugins (Scroll down and look for the Mac ones)

lastly you said “I have a macbook btw” well same here “I have a MacBook Pro too”
