Is there freeware out there that can convery MP4 to something that Windows Movie Maker will understand. Alternatively is there good freeware that I can use to make a move and edit in MP4. My camera shoots in MP4 and I only have Windows Movie maker to edit with.

Try download.com. They have some free software and some that is free to try. Usually trial versions are for 30 days. Just type in “MP4 to WMV” in the search box. Hope this helps.
