Far too often when sales professionals are on the phone they try to sell the prospect. They share countless features, benefits, and let the prospect know that they would be crazy to pass up on this opportunity. At the end of the conversation the salespeople that use this approach are usually greeted with “let me think about it” or “I’ll get back to you” which means you aren’t getting the sale. 

Sales scripts that sell just don’t work. You can’t sell someone something they don’t really want or need.   Trying to persuade or convince someone to make an investment in your offering when there isn’t a match will just end up with you getting a return.
