Reasonably priced video editing software?

Question by Shaun: Reasonably priced video editing software?
I am looking for video editing software to make movies with cool effects. Some examples would be light saber effects and noises. Gun shots (sparks at the tip of gun to simulate firing). Digital blood splatter from gunshot or knife. and maybe some explosions. I’m not looking to create the effects, just looking for pre-rendered effects that I can place on the screen. Good titles and openings would be nice as well.
