According to IMDb, release date is set for 2011.
According to wikipedia, “Lionsgate Entertainment acquired worldwide distribution rights to a film adaptation of The Hunger Games, which will be produced by Nina Jacobson’s production company Color Force. Collins will adapt the novel for film herself.”
It is highly likely that it will be turned into a film given its success. All successful books become movies nowadays. Hell, even famous board games (i.e. Battleship and Candyland) are getting movies.
