Q&A: Old movie title, Jungle Book variant?

Question by : Old movie title, Jungle Book variant?
I got a rather spontaneous urge the other day to watch an old movie I loved when I was a kid. It’s a variant on the Jungle Book, but I can’t figure out WHICH version it was. I know it was live action and the animals could talk. I remember Sher Kan making a joke about “chewing Tabaqi”, one of the wolves taunting Mowgli about being able to out-hunt him “with two paws tied behind my back”, and Bagheera and Mowgli having a staring contest. I also remember him holding a book and a picture he found when some monkeys tricked him and locked him in an abandoned hut. And I think I remember his wolf mother telling Sher Kan he would kill Mowgli “over her dead body”, to which he replies “WITH PLEASURE” and kills her. I don’t think there’s a single seen in there with him as an adult, but I may be wrong.

Can anyone possibly tell me the title of this version, it’s release year, and the company and/or producer? I really don’t want to watch six or eight different versions before finding the one I’m looking for.
