Q&A: Movies about making video games or modding?

Question by Taylor M: Movies about making video games or modding?
I’m looking for a movie that talks about making video games or modding. Like how to get through concept stages and how a game works etc. It doesnt need to be a big huge production just something that’s informational and that I could hopefully get at the library or Netflix. If you dont know any, a book would be helpful too!

There are not any video game development documentaries that I can think of that would show-up on Netflix or at your local library. There was a TV show called Icons on G4 a while back that had a bunch of great interviews with game developers. You can find a lot of clips on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utX9NQMKKyI

A lot of deluxe editions of popular games like Doom 3, Quake 4, and Halo 2/3 have Making Of Documentaries. Those games can be picked up for only a few dollars used nowadays. There was also an Everquest documentary, which was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but still quite informative: http://video.ign.com/dor/articles/1044480/evercracked-the-phenomenon-of everquest/videos/evercracked_prt_ep1_111209.html
