Question by John H: making a “perfect” movie? where is the beethoven of moviemaking?
I know that everyone has their own subjective opinion on every movie, and that some people think that certain movies are absolutely great, while others think that the same movies really suck. However, I am wondering why the film industry has not yet seen a director or actor that has risen to the level that mozart or beethoven reached in music. I know that everyone’s favorite director isnt beethoven or mozart, but it is universally accepted that their music is beautiful. Any thoughts on why no one has gotten to this level making movies, and if its possible?

Because no one cares to do it. Mozart and Beethoven were doing what they loved. Now its just “lets make as much money as we can”. I think people are too lazy, and no one wants to take the time needed to make something amazing as people before them did.
