Q&A: Is Piolo & Vilma fit to portray the role of Ninoy and Cory respectively in a movie film?

Question by delive_rance: Is Piolo & Vilma fit to portray the role of Ninoy and Cory respectively in a movie film?
There is a recent showbiz news that they are preparing to make the life story of Ninoy and Cory Aquino in a film. And the rumor movie industry has chosen both Piolo and Vilma to portrayed the said movie. Is it justifiable to choose these two people to give justice to the role of Ninoy and Vilma? I for one disagree on the ground that they do not resemble the said character. Piolo doesn’t even look a bit like Ninoy and the same goes to Vilma as Cory Aquino. Ninoy in real life is kinda chubby unlike Piolo who is a regular gym bop and Vilma on the other hand has round body compared to Cory who is slim. Unlike in the US most director hired people who really resemble the person in the film especially if this is a true to life story. The best example is the portrayal of Muhammad Ali by Will Smith in the movie film “Ali”. Not only Will justified the role of Ali but he is completely like an alter ego of Ali in the said film. Why can’t the Philippine movie industry use research agents to find and look for Ninoy and Cory look a like and hired them personally for the said project instead of just putting actors or actress just because they are famous they are fit to portrayed the role of Ninoy and Cory. This is crazy. Lumalabas na mas matatalino pa rin ang mga Kano kesa sa atin even in the form of arts & movie making.
Choco, even younger Ninoy surely Piolo donot fit as a younger Ninoy. Noname, I think u better stick to your own name, I rather be a director than an actor remember Spielberg? Hey ittaketime, you should care not only that people on the film deliver the lines but more so on fitting them right for the said role, Filipino ka nga iyong famous word natin na “ok na yan..puede na iyan…”syndrome. No wonder we are below standard of film making. aRTZ they should be dead ringers look at the film called Ghandi, the actor Ben Kinsley resembles the late Ghandi himself. Because it is very important that you are making a movie out of these people not just making one out of sheer curiousity isn’t it? If that is the case then we shouldn’t call this a film about the late couple Ninoy & Cory puede pala kahit sino eh diba iyon ang conclusion ng lahat so why not use any good looking actors or actresses and just roll the shot. In most US films about biography they take those who really looks like them.

Piolo will play the younger Ninoy in the film and Vilma is not yet confirmed to play Cory according to a news report on TV Patrol.

Isay Alvarez (Cory Aquino, “Cory: The Musical”) most likely fits the role in my opinion.
