A close friend of mine has been prescribed 7.5 Percocet to take 2-3 times a day if needed for about 3 months now but he only takes them when he has his back pain,which might be once a day or if it is bothering him more, he will take it 2-3 a day. But one weekend,he was out of state and forgot to take them with him so he did not have any in his system for about 3 days. It didn’t bother him , no side effects or anything like that because as I’ve said, he only takes them when he needs them and is not addicted it them…Thank God, but the now problem the problem he is having,when he returned home that day, he had his doctor’s appointment (pain mgt.) to get his refills. On this particular apt. the doctor told him he had to do a urinal test and when the results came back, No percocet was found in his system and now his doc thinks he may be selling them instead of taking them!!!…Which his most DEFINITELY IS NOT!!!
That why we need to see how long PERCOCET stay in the system??. As I’ve said, he was gone over the weekend which was about 3 days. Can someone who knows FOR SURE please respond ASAP!

I wanted to add that I realize alot of the doctors now have to give “pee-tests” just to be sure that the medications the patients are given are really taken and NOT sold! It just makes it so bad for the people who really need them! I myself have to be on different kinds of pain meds for many years since my car accident.And over this time I’ve heard many “shady” patients selling their scripts. This makes me so mad because its so hard for us “legitimate” people who really are hurting and need to take pain meds. get them without some doctors thinking we are getting them either to sell or take just for kicks! This is why I am trying to find out for my friend just how long percocet stay in your system because he is now having trouble getting another refill after his urinal test came back saying he didn’t have any in his system only after not taking them over the weekend!He told his Dr. he forgot to bring them when he was out of state but his Dr. doesn’t seem to believe him! What to do?
