Q&A: Does anyone know any fun and easy movie special effects?

Question by angela_m_haven1: Does anyone know any fun and easy movie special effects?
I know about using blue and green screens, using small scale models, and that you can make an underwater effect by filming a clear container of water and your actor standing on the other side of it. I was just wondering if anybody knew of any other interesting tricks. I’ve never used any special effects on film before but I like reading about it.

My favorite SFX are in camera effects, not digital.
If you have an older ariflex you can run the film through the camera backwards and film everything in reverse.
I used this to good effect in a dream sequence, the scene was acted in reverse, (everyone walking backwards), and shot in reverse. When it was played forward it was amazing, everyone moved correctly, but impossibly odd.
Buster Keaton did a lot of special effects in camera in his silent films.
