What are the best kind of digital video cameras used to make movies? I’m an Amateur…it’s a hobby….but i want a video camera tha you can PLUG INTO THE COMPUTER, SO I CAN DO SPECIAL EFFECTS ON MY MOVIES…What are the best kinds for this?

Key things to look for in a video camera IMHO are:
(1) 3 CCD (and HD is preferable, but I don’t know what kind of budget you’re on)
(2) There is a jack available for external audio. The in-camera mic usually picks up more sound behind the camera than in front of it.

If possible, it’s nice to have a camera with measurable manual focus. The higher end models have focus rings with markings to show the distance of the focal point, but some of the lower end models may still show the distance on their viewscreens. Having measurable focus means you can just run a tape measure between you and your lens and find the correct focus to set the camera at.
