I’ve been researching and saving for my new laptop for months and I cannot make up my mind between a Macbook Pro and a Dell Studio XPS. I will use it mostly for business and personal no heavy video editing or gaming. I do want to be able to watch media online and movies. My main concern is that there might be no compatibility issues with software and interaction with other people online even though I plan to get Office for Mac if I go for a Mac!!! Which is better???

For your purposes, I would definitely get the Dell Studio XPS.
