For those of you that were fans of Legos back in the day, there’s the Lego Digital Designer, which appears to be a FormZ or 3D Studio Max Lite. It’s a pretty easy software to use, and it has a cool factor of making movies for you to show the steps of how you make your project.
You can also make a set of instructions on how to build, and get cost estimates! What a great way to teach kids about architecture or engineering!

What is in the images is about all I could make the first few years I had legos, as I didn’t have many of the ‘cool’ pieces. Growing up in a military family, it was all about flying. This is probably why I became a fan of the Robie House, you’ve got to love the cantilevers!
