making a movie for school?

Question by just life: making a movie for school?
I was just wondering, if I wanted to make a movie what kind of camera would I need? Also, since I don’t really know how to make a movie, would it be difficult to learn how to edit and such, as well as adding words into the movie? Thank you for your answers, I really need to know if I want to make a movie, haha 🙂

Well it depends on if this is a major project for graduation? or a high school/middle school project. It doesnt matter what camera you have. I used a digital camera. But if you want a good sound and quality stick with a Camcorder. Are you going to make a Silent movie or are the characters going to have lines? If you are going to have your characters speak into the camera type them up a script and give them 2-3 weeks to memorize them. and make BIG script cards incase a character forgets their lines. When making a movie you want to flim it into sections. i film mine in 5 minutes section. Dont film the whole thing! once someone messes up its a pain to restart the filming again unless you want to flim that last part and edit. and that is a pain. When writing the script, are you going to write alone? or with a partner? if you write alone you will get it done faster. No one to distract or argue with you. If you write it with a partner, you will have less work to do but you may get into disagreements and one of you might bail out last minute. As for shooting the scenes. Plan out when everyone is going to meet and what day and time. If a character can not make it, dont work around THEIR schedual. It will only make it more frusterating for you and the other cast members, instead, replace them. This may be hard to do with a friend but if its for school, you gotta do it. if not, then work around their schedual too. Also before you shoot the movie make sure that the character know exactly where they are going and what they are saying. And make sure everyone eles is not on set or is quiet when on set. The last thing you need is to hear other people chatting on set. For the costumes, if needed, make sure to have them ready a week before. make sure everyone can fit. Lastly rember to save bloopers. there so fun to watch over. im sorry i dont know how to edit or add words. but good luck with your movie. i hope this info has helped.
