laptop or pc?

Question by mackavelli786: laptop or pc?
with lots of advice from many people ive come to the conclusion that dual core is better than quad core YET! (for now) i want to upgrade cos i do multi tasking.

I want to be able to play games, watch HD movies, Edit Sound (make music using pro software), Microsoft Office Use and internet use with downloading.

Should i go for laptop or desktop. i already have a desktop but its only single cpu which i built a year and half ago. Please help the best option for me. thanks

and HD movies is important blu ray and hd dvd. I already use a HDTV as my pc monitor so if i were to get a laptop would i be able to connect it to the tv. thnks
ALSO IM A STUDENT DOING A UNI COURSE BUT IN COLLEGE FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF TE FOUR YEARS THAT MY COURSE IS. THANKS

Well that totally depends on if you ever want to travel with it! That’s really the main consideration – do you want to be portable with it. A desktop will be more powerful, can keep it connected to your TV/cable if you want through a number of ways. But, ya can’t take it with you.

I tend to say that if you’re undecided, go for the laptop. Then you can take it with you to friends, stick it in a backpack, get on the Internet in tons of different places, etc. You can always connect it to an external monitor if you find that at home you need a big screen, etc.

Tough choice – but a fun one to have!
