Job search problems! I may be unemployed! Help!?

Question by glove_jr44: Job search problems! I may be unemployed! Help!?
I live in Australia and i’m one and a half years away from finishing high school but i’m scared that i won’t be able to find a job after i leave. My hopeful job prospects are sound engineering/movie making/business ownership. But all of these appear to be very low demand and highly competitive fields so im really scared that i’m gonna get out of high school and not be able to get a job or even be able to feed myself!! What do i do!?!?

If you’re not wanting to go to college, your best bet is to find internships first, gain knowledge and experience, then slowly work your way up. If you start now, you’ll have 1 1/2 years of experience under your belt and you’ll be able to find a job better. It’s not going to be easy with no college degree. You’re throwing away almost all the best opportunities by not getting one.

Sound engineering isn’t something you can do without a college degree, and how will you open your own business without a little money first? Films take a LOT of knowledge – they’re a lengthy, intricate process and you should definitely major in film if you want to go into the film industry.

For now, start working asap and do some research by searching jobs online. You’ll get a feel of what employers want before they hire you (degree, years of experience, etc)
