How To Make A Jareth The Goblin King (From The Movie ‘Labyrinth’) Costume?

Question by ameliaflame: How To Make A Jareth The Goblin King (From The Movie ‘Labyrinth’) Costume?
My school is having a costume competition for Halloween, and a friend suggested I go as Jareth The Goblin King from ‘Labyrinth’. I think it’s a marvelous idea as Labyrinth has always been my movie since I was two years old, and Jareth my idol. But how should I go about it? I have no idea how to find a costume, or how to make one. I rather not wear tights, but go for his awesome trenchcoat look. I have limited money and skill to make a costume, and am a 5′ 3” girl. Any ideas?
Extra:
I am naturally blond, but my hair is auburn right now and is very un-Jarethy, but I don’t know if I can find a wig. Ive been thinking about getting a strange haircut, maybe I should see if my hairdresser will give me a Jareth-do LAWL.
In response to one of the posters, I have not read Return to the Labyrinth because it looked like stupid fanfic. Should I read it?

Step one, are you blond?
If not, obtain a blond wig.
Step two, obtain lots and lots of glitter.
Step three, go thrift store browsing for closest available clothing match.
Step four, MAKEUP (the makeup really makes Jareth)
Step five, obtain crystally ball things. (I’d go for plastic, schools don’t usually approve of students carrying glass around)
Step six, black gloves and high-heeled boots.
Step seven, apply glitter liberallly to hair, costume, and makeup
Step eight, learn to move the crystally ball things around your hand.
Step eight point five, carry bubbles around and practice sleight of hand so that you can do the thing where he turns the crystal ball into a bubble and sends Sarah her dream.
Step nine, carry around the DVD all day because unfortunately the vulgar Jareth-deprived probably won’t get it.
Step ten, (this is for the bonus) walk around singing the songs
Step eleven, punch anyone who calls you a fairy.

Buy an owl costume
