How do I get my best friend to stop copying me?

Question by Taylor: How do I get my best friend to stop copying me?
See, I’m a graduated senior now and am going to move to a big city with my best friend, come sept., and I’ve been friends with this girl since 4th grade. So, I’m really into theatre, sewing, photography, fashion, making movies, stuff like that. And every time I get a new interest, it becomes her’s too. We even TALK the same. I will try to re-invent myself all the time, yet it still ends up adding onto HER personality. I feel as if I invented something and didn’t get credit for it. It’s just annoying. I try to take it as an image of flattery, but then people will compliment her things, and even though that’s SO lame, I’M the one who “created” that concept. I hate it. I wanna be myself. I hate the thought of having to hide my life from her, afraid if I start to breathe a different way, she will be doing it. Help? How can I tell her, or HINT at her to stop? Thanks! (And no, I’m NOT gonna go do drugs or something and then laugh at her for copying me, lmao)

Haha. I was gonna say go bald. but then i read the last part of your thing and was like darn. hm But yeah i actually had the same problem. with two different people so I tried two ways. For my first friend I just distanced myself from him so eventually we just became really different and thus stopped him from copying me. For the other i honestly just talked to him. I was like hey. why do you always get into the things i’m into and he’s like oh? he didn’t notice. but it worked itself after that. So i dunno those were my ways so it’s really up to you and depends on what kind of person you are. hope all goes well.
