I love the whole splat/grunge technique..and I was wondering:
how can I make a video like that in movie maker?

Is there a name to the technique (it goes back and forth in the video, splatting around).

it’s called the particle illusion. That means you can create anything you want like the splattering they just did, or rain effect or fire etc… and you have a black background or a blue background for that video of the splattering etc… and you use the black chroma key transition to make it happen. This program I am speaking of creates amazing special effects and the splattering you saw in the video you showed us was a special effect used. This is the software you could use

But it’s still good to try before you consider buying it. If you want something now and do not want to buy it, you can ask someone from the windows movie maker forum and ask her for the splattering special effect and show her this video you showed us.
