Help! .mov files converted to .wmv refuse to be saved movie file in movie maker, cause an source error.fix?

Question by : Help! .mov files converted to .wmv refuse to be saved movie file in movie maker, cause an source error.fix?
So I’ve pretty much asked a crap ton of questions about this topic, so in this question, I’ll try to be as specific as possible.
I am making a movie for a project that is due very soon. I recorded some parts on a mac computer and sent them to my windows. (they are .mov first) (don’t think I can get the mac back)
I’ve honestly tried to use every single media converter ever made to convert them to either .wmv or .avi
The reason being is that I want to use windows movie maker to make it because I know how to use it very well…seeing as I want to make some video files the audio track and trim and connect different videos. (the only movie program I have and know how to use is windows movie maker)
Also online, anything like windows movie maker is not actually free, it’s an unregistered evaluation copy and they put those stupid watermarks on the middle of the clip.
What is happening is that I am able to import the converts that I made into movie maker, and the dammed thing even let me make a movie in it thinking that it was going to be just fine. I go to save my movie file and BAM …I get Windows cannot find destination or Original source files error message. After that I tried to see if it was any clip specific, but pretty much it was a little bit of each file save for like one…
I’ve even tried online converters and making all the videos youtube movies and ripping the media from there seeing if I do different formats or ways of downloading them if they would work.
Is there any other freaking approach I can take to get these files to work in movie maker? I know they work because my vlc player opens them, so they’re not broken.
I am getting SO frustrated and I’m usually pretty computer savvy, but this has truly stumped me.
please help me before I go nuts.
