anybody knows a free downloadable dvd software that can copy protected dvd’s? or software that can convert dvd format .vob movies into any pc readable and compressed format, like .mp4, .mpeg, .avi, .mov, etc?

I just want to make a backup of my original dvd movies so I can use this if friends wants to borrow the movie and I don’t have to give the original set. I don’t want to see scratches and fingerprint marks on my discs. The least I can do is compress it on dvd or portable hdd so they can watch it on their pc’s instead.

AnyDVD is the program you are searching for.

Breaks the protection and burns them straight to your hard drive for burning ro just watching.

Another program you could use is called DVDShrink. It’s just as good.

But if you use these two programs together, it’s better than one of them alone.
