Against a backdrop of a drug war, the annual film festival in Mexico draws celebrities, filmmakers, fans. And for a short time, there is a new kind of normal. ‘We can’t live with fear over what might happen,’ says one festival-goer. The movies made it almost easy to forget the drug-related violence that had plagued Michoacán state and its capital in recent years.
