Can someone tell is if this is suppose to happen when making an AMV? (WIndows Movie Maker)?

Question by Long Quitter: Can someone tell is if this is suppose to happen when making an AMV? (WIndows Movie Maker)?
When I import a clip, it breaks down into 2-8 second clips. So there are alot of clips. Is that suppose to happen?

But alot of times when I import some other clip, it imports it whole without splitting the clips into 2-8 second clips. And also, when that happens, I can’t play it when I add it to the timeline… I can play it, but all I get is audio, I don’t get to see it.

Why do some clips do this? The steps are so easy, but the clip just wont appear when I add it to my timeline… again, all I get is audio whenever it doesn’t get split into 2-8 second clips.

HELP!

Also, what else can I use other than Window Movie Maker to make AMV’s?

well yes, the video breaking down into smaller clips is normal. Something Movie Maker does all the time. But you should be able to see the video if you import it to the timeline.

Anyways, Movie Maker is too basic. Try something more advanced, I recommend you Adobe Premiere for Windows or Final Cut for Macintosh. I’m not a Premiere expert buy I started using it and mixing it with After Effects. Damn, Movie Maker is a piece of sh*t!!
