We speak with Jonathan Demme and Emmett Malloy at the LA Film Festival to highlight their new music docs, “Neil Young Journeys,” and “Big Easy Express.” Emmet talks with us about creating his modern homage to “Festival Express,” “Big Easy Express,” and how he went about corralling Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Mumford & Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show for a cross-country musical train trip. We then speak with brilliant film master, Jonathan Demme about his third film with Neil Young and the unique inspiration for this voyage back to his roots. He proves to be as gracious as his films are stunning.
