A Possibility of making Real Transformers?

Question by deletedd . !: A Possibility of making Real Transformers?
Let me start off by saying if you’re not going to answer the question with actual facts and instead act like a smart-ass, leave now because you’re sure as hell not going to be acknowledged :] You can go be an inconsiderate person somewhere else.

Now that I’ve got that outta the way; the way the cars transformed in the movie, could it actually be done? You know, an actual vehicle that displays some human emotion, can speak English, is fast and intelligent, and can transform midway WHILE DRIVING on a road? I mean, you can start with the basics first.. you know, design the interior and the way its built (its shape, etc.)…. y’know, take baby steps..

Also, if you could make transformers, how would you integrate the emotions/movements/transformation commands into it? What kind of technology would you need in order to program it to do what you want? Could it actually be used to be placed in modern warfare? Or could you actually create a whole Transformers univcerse where the whole concept is two differet races of robots battling over a cube- In real life ?

You probably killed some good answers with paragraph one. learn to ignore the jokesters.

Think nano technology as in nanobots that can work together on a microscopic level similar to the way George Lucas explains metaclorians or the was in Terminator the explain polymetal liquid allow. It s highly theoretical but then again what isn’t? The matter anti matter and food replicators of Star Trek are theoretical but theories do reflect science to date.

The thought is that the nano bots could form and reform themselves into any shape or machine they so desire with a collective consiousness similar to the human brain guiding them deep within their chosen shape. The bots create their own nervous sysytem and circulatory system and shift it around from design to design to meet the collective’s needs.

As for emotions and such thoughts try a Rawlesian programing where the you achieve the greatest good for the greatest number and make that a priorty in each bot’s make up such that the collective is always looking out for itself and the bots are always looking out for each other. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one or the few. It will also make the machine peaceful and yet protective of itself and others.

As for wars, they occur when people set out to upset the balance in society and get more than they already have. People , in this case your robot, fight because they have to fight or feel they have to fight either to defend themselves and others or to take from others to become more than they currently are.

The question you are getting close to is the question of why would there not be everyone in agreement as to what is the greatest good and the answer is factionalism. As factions form in the collective the greatest good is to separate the good from the bad or the same from the different to keep things functioning. So you will have collectives of differing perspectives on similar matters and that will end up in conflict.
Greater men than we have come to realize this is a truth in life and society that we can not all simply get along.

Oh, the cube thing is about ultimate power and the result of ultimate power is ultimate destruction as the factions within would tear such a being apart eventually. The being would have to shed off parts of itself they way animals shed their skin or hair so as not to sufocate.

I hope this helped, but; let the jokesters talk too, there is brilliance in humor and factions other than our own.
