Making an animated movie for free/no revenue…waste of time?
Question by fleur: Making an animated movie for free/no revenue…waste of time?
Let’s say a designer has the rendering and computer graphics expertise (plus the computer to handle the work) to make a high quality, realistic appearing animated movie.
The movie is based on plot/script by the designer with original characters. Its all for entertainment purposes, recognition, and for the fans. The designer even pays for the music and sound effects (by some well known but not overly expensive production music companies).
Obviously it would take months to complete (single person team) and then waiting for movie licenses to clear.
Logically, does it sound like a total waste of time to you?

Not if you really love what you’re doing. I mean at least it’s something constructive, better than watching TV, or bumming around on the internet not getting anything done.
