Q&A: Music video making program for a PC?

Question by Hello: Music video making program for a PC?
So this summer my friends and I have plans to make a music video! But since none of us have ever done anything like this before, I’m going to need a bit of help.

1. What program is the easiest to use, preferably free to download, and works on PC computers? (I have Windows 7, if you must know) Also, elaborate as to why it is the best program to use & please provide a link to the download page.

2. I have heard that Windows Movie Maker is a good program to use for this type of project, but I would like to know the basics of it before I consider downloading it. Is it free? And also, if this is a good program to use just give me a general overview of the program.

This is one of those questions that requires more than a short answer, sorry!

I have used a few video editing programs and the easiest one has been DVD Slideshow Builder. Very easy to use with professional features and same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful.
